Lasagna Soup – Alrightwithme

This next recipe is pretty much the last soup but actually following a recipe. It felt like I was checking my answers after a test.

I made some alterations to this recipe, like the noodle shape and the lack of spinach.

In the class room, connecting this lesson to the last in some way would be analysing a photo of a dish and making it, following with them reading the recipe and seeing how close they got. I think this lesson would pair with an ADST class, art class, or an introduction to both of those classes in the middle school environment.

The first step was to chop half an onion and mince 3 garlic cloves, while browning 1 lb of ground beef.

Then add the three together.

Once the onions are soft and the garlic is fragrant, add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil and add noodles. Let simmer for 10 mins.

After the 10 minutes is up, add the heavy cream and let it stand for 5 mins to thicken.

To serve, put a slice of mozzarella cheese at the bottom of the bowl, serve the soup, then put a dollop of ricotta to the top.

Boom.
