Cowboy Soup – What Molly Made
This soup has a lot of different vegetables and other good stuff. I found following the recipe a little difficult to follow. There was one part of the recipe that noted something along the lines of “put the rest of the ingredients in,” there were about 7 more ingredients to go in so I was a little confused why everything went in without hesitation. It all worked out, so in the future if i make this again i will be prepared
Connecting this to the classroom, I would attach it to the assignment where they create their own recipe but make the extension of explaining each step. For example, why don’t you put garlic at the same time as the onions? A: onion takes longer than garlic to cook.
I started with cutting the vegetables and mincing the garlic.

Add the ground beef to the pot to the cooking onions and celery.

Then came all the other ingredients, corn, beans, potatoes, carrots, tomato ingredients, and broth.

Then I let it sit.
