Weekly Reflection #8
POD presentation day
In this class we had presented the overviews of the project we were working on in our POD groups. I felt that I learned a lot from each group and as I continue to watch the videos that were shared And doing more personal research. I will be able to confidently use these tools in my future classroom and suggest them to other educators. I’m especially intrigued by the online safety regarding VPNs and other ways to keep the classroom safe. I think it is very important that teachers and families are aware of what’s online and ensure the students are also aware of the risks but the benefits that come along with the use of technology.
I felt my group did a really good job of demonstrating and analyzing the topic we had chosen, which was The impact of screen time on children’s social and cognitive development. Our presentation was well organized and thoroughly explained in our video. We had gone into this presentation thinking we were showing 5 minutes of the video and not a similar situation to the checkpoint presentation, but as the groups went through we were still prepared to present our findings. I will continue to use the tools that were presented during this class in future classrooms and other educational environments because of the increase of technology and digital use that we are seeing in elementary schools today.
Below are some links to resources I used in my findings:
